Open Houses This Week!

Interested in learning about your assistantship? Having trouble figuring out your health insurance? Need help getting your parking pass? GAU wants to help with all of this and more! Come to GAU’s open houses on Monday, September 13th 11:00-12:30 and Tuesday, September 14th 2:30-4:00 in the Memorial Union Senate Chambers (room 300) to learn all about your rights and benefits as a member of GAU. We are happy to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have going into the semester. We hope to see you there!

On Monday, September 12th and Tuesday, September 13th we’ll be hosting open house hours in the Memorial Union Senate Chambers.

Tentative Agreement Reached!

At the request of the URI Board of Trustees, GAU returned to the negotiating table in July to address emergency changes to our contract in light of a $5.6 million reduction in state funding to the university due to COVID-19. On October 15, a tentative agreement was reached between GAU and the Board of Trustees.

Now, it’s your turn to have a say. Please review the proposed changes to our contract, then join GAU on Wednesday, October 28th at 6pm to discuss and to vote on the proposed changes. For more details, see a full run down of how these contractual changes will impact you. This is a members-only meeting, as only signed members of GAU are entitled to vote on contractual changes. If you are not yet a member of GAU, now is the time to become a member.
